New Releases
I will attempt to run updates and features on new releases here, admittedly these may focus on the 360 and cross console releases but I will endeavour to keep this broad…
Alone in The Dark- cross console- June 20th
The game that has been put back, delayed, previewed more than any other game this year finally has a set release date!I have been looking forward to this for many many months. The game is focusing on bringing a new level of detail to game play whilst making it both accessible for new gamers and challenging for hardened gamers. Claiming this is their big release of the year there are some exciting new features:
- The story is split into chapters with the ability to skip them if you are stuck
- Using every day objects to manipulate and destroy the environment
- Set Central Park with some amazing cut scenes previewed
- And many more..
I recommend checking out www.centraldark.com to have a look around the new Central Park
Halo Wars- 360- NA
The features and details of Halo Wars have been trickling through for a while now and after hours and hours playing Halo 3 the idea of getting my teeth into a new Halo is perfect.Rumour has it that the chief Halo developer has gone to Microsoft after leaving Bungie which could lead to a sequel, after all we saw Master Chief’s escape pod safely fly away. It will contain online co-op and 6 player battles over XBL and will be Halo but in RTS. The game is set 20 years before Halo but we have been promised the Spartan super soliders that we have come to know and love..
Call of Duty 5: World At War (NA)

So today it was announced that the newest Call of Duty game would be set in WW2, initially I was worried by the idea itself and then even more worried by the fact that Treyarch are developing it (COD3).
To summarise the official bits from the Xbox magazine:
Players: 1-2
Online: 2-4 Co Op, 2-16 (multiplayer)
Reading on about the game though there are some nice features coming out, set in the second WW it focuses on the battle for the Pacific. A famously horrifying and brutal battle, COD is set to recreate this in a game that is more of the horror genre than WW FPS with details coming in about the level of brutal stealth that will be depicted in the Japanese (true to some extent in history).
Mulitplayer details are still hard to get but alot of say has gone on about the graphics and environment compared to COD4, rumours are that they will be more destructible (maybe not to BF BC level) and will include the ability to swim underwater.
It will be interesting to hear what the multiplayer features are since COD4 has set such a high standard.
